My daily routine every morning was to do some cleaning, preparing some bread for breakfast and have a shower. At night, We plan and write what to do the next morning and the day after that. Before we begin our activity, we always have our map with us, because it is a very important thing to have when we walk around the city of Sydney, Australia.
I went out of the house and step-by-step my friend and I headed to Evaline Street from Gould Street. We walked by the streets one by one to the train station in Campsie area. Out tour stopped in Sydney city center, the Town Hall, to see a keyboard exhibition there. We entered a beautiful and fascinated hall. While queuing, I saw the majority that entered the room are old people. I thought it was a seriosa performance with some gospel songs. In my mind, if the old people were here, it must have been some kind of performance as preparation to the death. The concert started with playing a piano. All the doors have been closed and everyone are focused only to the stage. There weren’t any noise, no one passed through or walked around the room. The pianist played the keys with passion and soulfully and finally three songs was completed and the audience gave a highly organized boisterous applause, sincere and commendable. I was so fascinated by the pianist and what most is by the most sincere applause I have ever heard in my life. It was so real in my ears. This is what I have been missing in life, sincerity. Sincerity as an art coming through the listeners’ soul. I really couldn’t put in word of what I felt. This was the first lesson I had when I was in Australia and watching the piano plays performance. We cannot deny that we cannot engineer our body language. However, that was what happened in the other part of the world, especially in developing countries. The people seemed so cheerful, but I cannot feel the sincerity. We can watch the football match, on TV or live, but we cannot feel the sincerity in the applause. The spontaneity is faked, as it was all planned. It will not leave a mark in the heart. It is meaningless. Kafrawi FBA staff
